Stoptober Fundraising Success
Thanks to our determined team in Tewkesbury, their Stoptober fundraising success helped local resident Matt Dunsby get some independence.
Matt is married with two children. During the past couple of years, he has suffered with ill health meaning that his usually active lifestyle, which included teaching children to play tennis, had diminished to the point whereby he could only get outside to the garden on exceptional days with the aid of crutches.
Supporting the “Get Matt some independence” appeal
For Stoptober, everyone gave something up for the month. There were a number of funny abstentions along the way. For example Steve Sewell gave up “Marmite” for the month, although nobody was actually convinced that he ate it prior to the event! There were sponsored diets and even a donation from the bonus ball lottery game. In total we raised over £530 which was enough to purchase Matt an electric scooter outright!
