Fifty Years of Kenard

Kenard Celebrates its Fiftieth Anniversary

The Kenard Group, which specialises in subcontract precision engineering services, is celebrating 50 years in business in November.

The Group was established as a private limited company in 1964 by Ken Churchill and Alan Richard Magenis, although it’s origins can be traced back to the early 1950’s. It was subsequently purchased by the Ellis family in 1982. Since then it has evolved into a thriving and diverse organisation, specialising in subcontract precision engineering and manufacturing software technology (under the brand Seiki Systems), supplying some of the world’s largest OEMs.

Now employing over 150 people across two manufacturing facilities in Dartford and Tewkesbury, and the Seiki offices in Brighton, Kenard has grown in financial and operational scale but it has retained strong family values at its core.

Half a century in business is quite an achievement for any organisation but the development, and speed of change in our industry have provided some unique challenges. We have always remained consistent in our approach, which has always been to deliver real value to our customers through an integrated, optimised approach to their precision engineering requirements. Investment in the latest manufacturing technologies, production practices and processes ensures that our solution offering remains at the highest possible standard, both technically and in overall performance.

“The success we have enjoyed over the last 50 years is down to our dedicated staff and loyal customer base. This year we will take the opportunity to reflect on and celebrate our achievements with all the people that have been a part of it, as well as focusing on delivering a strong future for all our stakeholders. We’ve always prided ourselves on embracing change and investing to secure the future of our company, as well as the wider industry. As we embark on our next half century we look forward to meeting the new challenges of an increasingly global level of competition, growing customer demand for agile, adaptable and innovative suppliers and advances in manufacturing technologies.”
