Skilled CNC Setter/Operators – Night Shift

An exciting opportunity has arisen for skilled CNC Setters/Operators on the Milling and Turning Sections, at Kenard Engineering Company, based in Dartford.

Working on the Night Shift the basic week consists of 4 x 12 hour shifts Monday to Thursday. A shift premium of time and a half is paid to our Night Shift CNC Machinists.

Kenard Engineering is an established, privately owned manufacturing company specialising in the machining of complex parts for the aerospace and telecommunications industries. We are a world class supplier of mechanical parts and our success is created through teamwork.

Our CNC Setters/Operators are responsible for consistently applying core skills in engineering and machining to produce parts to close tolerances, conforming to specification, and in accordance with batch cards. Our parts are machined from a variety of materials including some exotic materials.


The successful applicant(s) will most likely have completed a 4 – Year Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, will be competent to set and operate designated CNC machines-tools and will be able to use manual gauges accurately and various instruments to verify product conformity. An understanding of CNC programming (Fanuc or Fanuc based ), would also be an advantage.

A basic understanding of the requirements of AS9100 would also be beneficial, as would a competency in CMM operation, and the ability to use a shadowgraph. A background in aerospace work would be an advantage.
